I AM Me Foundation

The I AM ME Foundation is a 501 3(c) organization that was started to help Girls University expand its mission to all girls, local and across the country.

I AM Me Foundation’s mission is to inspire girls everywhere to reach higher, go further and do more. Our foundation has a number of key initiatives to help Girls University expose girls to science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

College is Possible

The College is Possible introduces and exposes girls in early and middle grades to STEM careers and leadership skills while preparing them for 21^st century sustainability.  Knowing the importance of higher education, I AM Me Foundation created “College Is Possible Tour” providing a day where girls in middle school have the opportunity to visit local or regional colleges.

The College is Possible tour consist of opportunities for middle school girls to experience college life, explore their career paths, hear from faculty and staff plus go on a campus scavenger hunt. We have visited: University of South Carolina, College of Charleston, South Carolina State University, Furman University and Francis Marion University with many more school lined up.

I CAN Code

The I CAN CODE’s mission is to ensure underrepresented girls ages 10 – 13 located in rural South Carolina counties have a chance to be successful in STEM fields related to computer programming .  During the 2018-2019 academic year, “I CAN CODE” will aim to expose a minimum of 500 girls to computer science (coding) workshops provided by the Microsoft and career specific college and industry tours.  The overall goal of “I CAN CODE” is to expose at least 5000 girls ages 10 – 13 located in South Carolina to computer science by 2025.

I AM ME STEM Fest

Created by Girls University, is a one-day event designed especially for girls in grades 8th. Girls STEM  Fest provides girls a voice and platform to ask anything, learn anything and become anything related to the field of STEM! The theme, “I AM ME” exemplifies the next generation of women.

The mission of Girls STEM Fest; to provide an outlet for girls to learn, explore, and network with other girls while exposing them to industry and education related to science, technology, engineering and math.  We provide girls with opportunities that prepares for 21st century success and sustainability.

For during the conference we partner with two top notch technical schools located within the Pee Dee; Florence Darlington Technical College and North Eastern Technical College. Girls STEM Fest allows girls the exposure to dynamic interactive and hands-on STEM activities, industry professionals and panel presentation.
