Girls University sororities encourage positive emotional, social, and academic development. Scholars explore and discuss their own beliefs around experiences and challenges girls face at their age in various settings. They also develop important strategies and skills to help them navigate life experiences and to achieve academic success. We start with helping the girls get a better understanding of who they are and what’s important to them. Then, we look at the importance of team work and healthy relationships. And, finally, the girls explore how they can positively connect with and shape the world.
Our programming focuses on the following areas:
Grades 5K – 5th
Over a period of 10 weeks, girls in the 5K through 5th grade participate one or two days a week in an after-school program like no other. Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls University curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms, motivates girls to explore new things and educates girls in how to connect with their interests. Throughout the series, the girls make new friends, build their confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique – because Girls R.O.C!
Grades 6th – 8th
STEAM is woven into our program to inspire an appreciation of science technology, engineering, arts and math. Our program focuses on girls building healthy relationships with other girls. At the end of each 10 week series, the girls participate in a Girls R.O.C STEAM event. This celebratory, non-competitive event is the culminating experience of the curriculum. By completing our series, girls receive a tangible understanding of the confidence that comes through accomplishment as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals through STEAM principles. Finishing this program is truly a defining moment when the girls realize that even the seemingly impossible IS possible.
Grades 9th – 10th
During the sessions of the Junior Academy, girls explore social, character development and career exploration. Girls can have their own groups, such as step team, speech and debate team, etc.Girls also develop important strategies and skills to help them navigate life experiences and to achieve academic success. We start with helping the girls get a better understanding of who they are and what’s important to them. Then, we look at the importance of team work and healthy relationships. And, finally, the girls explore how they can positively connect with and shape the world — all while encouraging them to foster healthy relationships with other girls.
Grades 11th – 12th
